About Us

How can two women make a difference in the world?  This is the question that two friends of 24 years asked each other.

Hi, I am Jennifer Bain, and I would like to introduce you to Bain’s Baubles. 

As the question above indicates we are a company run by two friends that are trying to make a difference.  Laura Kaye Reese and I have been crafters of one sort or another since we met over 24 years ago.  I dipped my toe into the retail market selling soaps and candles a few years ago as a testing side hustle.  Then life happened and changes were called for. 

Over several long phone conversations, it became clear that both Laura Kaye and I were wanting to make opportunities in our lives.  We discussed the uniqueness of our friendship in these divisive times and our individual outlooks.  While we have been friends for decades (decades?!? Wait, aren’t we still in our twenties?) we made a choice a long time ago that no matter what we were discussing we could always agree to disagree.  Respect is a core value in our friendship as well as personal responsibility.

Wait a second.  We both are crafters.  We both want to make a difference.  We both agree on positivity, respect, and personal responsibility.  Surely there is a way to combine all of this and be able to make that difference.  As it happens, I was setting up a company to begin selling soaps and candles as more than a side hustle, so I brought Laura Kaye on board and expanded the products to include other handcrafted goods.

We would like to invite you to join us on a journey in creating a community of tolerance, joy, kindness, hope, respect, and personal responsibility (with a little Southern sass and Gen-X sarcasm thrown in).  All of our products will either be handmade or ethically sourced.  We will encourage our community to help us develop new ideas for designs and products.  We will also encourage the growth of this community through respectful communication and support that meet the needs of our growing family.
